TPC Stadium
Par-71, measures 7,261 yards from the tips.
The most famous course on our list, the TPC Stadium Course, plays host annually to the Waste Management Phoenix Open, the best attended golf tournament in the world. Designed by architect Tom Weiskopf and former PGA Tour professional Jay Morrish, this par-71 layout stretches over 7,261 from the championship tees. While a desert course, the fairways are lush and green, contrasting with the surrounding landscape, which features saguaros, cacti, and natural rock formations. The course offers a mix of strategic bunkering, water hazards, and undulating greens, making it a challenge for both amateurs and professionals. The property is connected to the Fairmont Princess Resort, providing luxury accommodations for guests who want to stay close to the course.
Troon North Monument
Par-72, measures 7,070 yards from the tips.
The monument course designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, is known for its dramatic boulder formations and beautiful desert scenery. The course offers a challenging yet scenic payout, with wide fairways, well-placed bunkers, and elevated greens. Its signature hole, the par-5 3rd, features a massive rock formation known as “The Monument” that adds to the challenge and visual appeal.
Talking Stick O’odham
Par-70, measures 7,133 yards.
The O’odham Course features a wide, open layout reminiscent of traditional Scottish links courses, with expansive fairways, minimal rough and large undulating greens. While there aren’t many trees lining the fairways, the challenges come from the large bunkers, mounds and natural desert washes. This course offers a unique experience in the Scottsdale area due to its links design, which contrasts with the more target-style desert golf courses found nearby.
Talking Stick Piipaash
Par-71, measures 6,833 yards from the back tees.
One of two Championship Courses at the Talking Stick Resort, the Piipaash course was designed by architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw in 1998. The course along with its sister course, the O’odham Course, is named to honor the Native American heritage of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, who own and operate the club. The Piipaash course is relatively flat with an emphasis on shot-making and strategic play, with plenty of desert vegetation, bunkering and water hazards adding an extra level of challenge and beauty. The par-3 12th hole is one of the standout holes where water hazards come into play. A well placed shot to a guarded green is what’s required on this visually striking hole.
